Little Bird Psychology

Hello, thank you for visiting my website. My name is Dr Fran Boudour and I run Little Bird Psychology. We are a team of Clinical Psychologists specialising in providing assessment and treatment to children, teenagers and young adults experiencing mental health difficulties or emotional distress, We usually work with children from the age of 5 and with young adults until the age of around 25.

If you are looking for psychological support for yourself or your child, it is possible that you have been experiencing a particularly stressful time recently, and we are here to listen and to help. We offer a friendly, flexible and responsive approach to psychological support and we work with each family and young person to provide an individualised approach that fits with your hopes for support. We offer home visits, clinic appointments in Clapham Junction and Wimbledon, or online sessions, depending on what fits best for your family. All Clinical Psychologists working at Little Bird Psychology are experienced with children and young people and have worked within the NHS, either currently or in the past. Our skills at engaging easily with young people is part of what makes our support so successful.

We understand that the stresses and strains of modern-day life can mean that young people struggle to cope at times, and we know the pressure this can put on families, who want to help. We believe strongly that young people who are struggling can often benefit from a space to talk about their feelings and develop ideas and strategies for how to improve their emotional wellbeing, and usually support does not need to be long-term to make a significant difference.

We always try to involve families in my sessions as much as possible, while maintaining confidentiality for the young person. This is because we know that families know the young person or child much better than ourselves and will remain in the young person’s life long after our input has finished.

I am an experienced clinical psychologist specialising in children and young people. I have conducted vast numbers of assessments for young people experiencing mental health difficulties and have provided therapeutic input for many more.

I currently work privately across South-West London as well as working for the NHS in a local Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). I have experience of working with people experiencing psychological distress across the lifespan and within a wide range of environments including inpatient wards, outpatient clinics and schools.

I am trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (and specific trauma-focussed CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. My approach to therapy is integrative, meaning that I use approaches from each of these therapeutic approaches depending on what fits best for the individual young person.

Dr Amelia Carton

I am a qualified clinical psychologist currently working within a Paediatric Psychology Service in a central London NHS trust where I lead two services. My work mainly focusses on supporting children, young people and their families who are experiencing psychological distress, considering this in the context of the systems that they are part of (such as family, health, school or community) and providing psychological intervention based on individual needs. My priority when working with families is to co-create a non-judgemental, calm and therapeutic environment to work towards shared goals to improve wellbeing.

I offer individual and family intervention, and I have completed additional training in a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, narrative therapy and systemic therapy. Given the nature of the world that we live in, I work integratively to ensure that my approach is tailored to the needs of the person or family that I am working with.

I am fully registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council, which is the governing body for Clinical Psychologists in the UK. My registration number is PYL37283.

I am a Trainee Clinical Psychologist in Year 2 of the 3-year Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. I am currently working across the North Thames Region. I have worked in the NHS for 5 years with experience of providing psychological assessment and intervention to individuals in 1:1 settings, therapeutic groups, and with family systems in systemic family therapy. I have experience of working across the lifespan (young people to older adults) in both physical and mental health contexts. As a woman of mixed-heritage, I am passionate about offering representation within Clinical Psychology and contributing to a workforce that is reflective of the communities we serve. I actively consider the role of race, culture and socio-political context (among other contexts) when supporting people with experiences of distress, and ensure a safe, non-judgemental therapeutic environment.

At Little Bird Psychology, I am responsible for content creation and maintenance of our social media channels (Instagram & Facebook). We share information about the services we provide, the team at LBP, other great local mental health services, psychoeducational materials about common mental health difficulties, and provide general tips and tricks to support parents and young people with managing/promoting mental wellbeing at home.

BSc Hons Psychology (2017)

Petrina Ding

I am a Trainee Clinical Psychologist, currently working across North London under the NHS towards full qualifications as a Clinical Psychologist. I have worked in the NHS for about 2 and a half years (under various Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) teams) and have also worked in private/ volunteer settings in other psychological intervention services (neurorehabilitation for adults and early intervention centre for young people with special needs). My experience includes providing psychological assessments and interventions both on an individual basis and with family, and through therapeutic group and/or parenting support for parents/ carers of young people with mental health and/ or neurodiverse needs.

Having grown up in a place of cultural diversity, I appreciate the importance of understanding an individual/ system within their context and am particularly passionate about working with stereotypes/ stigmas around mental health and providing representation for communities that may find mental health interventions difficult to access or engage with.

As an Assistant Psychologist working for Little Bird Psychology, I am mainly responsible for the administrative side of the practice but also occasionally participate in the creation of digital content for our practice’s social media pages

I am registered as a Graduate Member (MBPsS) of the British Psychological Society (BPS), which acts as the representative body for psychology and psychologists in the United Kingdom.

Qualifications
