Dr Fran Boudour

I am an experienced clinical psychologist specialising in children and young people. I have conducted vast numbers of assessments for young people experiencing mental health difficulties and have provided therapeutic input for many more.

I currently work privately across South-West London following over ten years working within the NHS, mainly at a local CAMHS team. I have experience of working with people experiencing psychological distress across the lifespan and within a wide range of environments including inpatient wards, outpatient clinics and schools.

I am trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (and specific trauma-focussed CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy, Narrative Exposure Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. My approach to therapy is integrative, meaning that I use approaches from each of these therapeutic approaches depending on what fits best for the individual young person.

I am skilled at engaging young people in therapy and the use of humour features frequently in my sessions. I bring age-appropriate games and activities to help young people feel more relaxed and I am keen to involve parents as much as appropriate depending on the particular case. I know that you know your young person best and that you will remain in their life long after my input has ended, so it is therefore vital and sensible to include parents where possible.

I am also a parent so have an understanding of the stresses and strains of raising children within our society. I understand that parents can be very anxious about their children in times of difficulty and always seek to reassure and work together to help the whole family through those difficult periods and out the other side.

I am fully registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council, which is the governing body for Clinical Psychologists in the UK. My registration number is PYL32556.

“Thank you so much Fran for helping us all out in some very dark and worrying times and helping us to find a way through and helping us through the relationship with school too. We have been very lucky to have found you”
